MWLC

I've been thinking a lot about what to do with this blog. I've decided to maintain it as a personal journal of my weight loss. Now you might enjoy reading this or might not and I welcome comments and suggestions. I joined Medical Weight Loss Clinic tonight. It's a program that helps you lose weight with the help of a nurse practioner and physician's assistance. It started here in Southfield Michigan back in 1982. I've heard some good things about it, but with any program it is all about what you make of it. Today I signed up and took a medical history questionnaire, tomorrow I go and have blood work drawn (which means a 6 hour fast) and I get what I need for a cleanse. Monday will officially start the weight loss diet. I will be weighing in three times a week so there is a lot of accountability, god knows that I need that. There will be one on one counseling, urine tests, blood work and blood pressure monitoring to make sure all is well. You also need to take supplements and of course they have their own shakes, breakfast bars etc. Most of the food you'll eat is what you make at home so it looks like I'll be grocery shopping on Sunday. Now if all goes well I should reach my goal weight within 26 weeks. Sounds easy right!? However, I know for a fact that this will be the most difficult thing I've ever had to do (besides of course giving birth and being a mom LOL). Right now I am too embarrassed to say what my starting weight is but it is the heaviest I've ever been. I think I will post a before picture and pictures during the process. Wish me luck and stay tuned...........
